HOME
The Mas of Faïsses is neither a hotel nor a restaurant, and nevertheless we sleep there and we eat there often better than somewhere else, and certainly otherwise. More than an inn, it is the meeting(appointment) of plants and taste... At night, we hear(understand) nasturtiums to dance, in the daytime, we are amazed in front of turnips hammer, we enjoy strawberries spinach (or stews of all kinds). The mas of faïsses is a beautiful stone building of the xviiiè century. Situated in Ardèche Cevennes, to 5 km of Largentière, he(it) is planted in the middle of a domain of 10 ha consisted of gardens, sweet chestnut trees, orchards. Shaded terraces, arched rooms, monumental fireplace(chimney) for winter, everything is convenient to the convivialitéEn quality of firm inn, you can taste(savour) an original cooking(kitchen) of vegetables, fruits and flowers there resulting directly from the kitchen garden. Yvette (gardener)((window box)) and Robert (cook) are indeed fascinated: The cultures are strangely diversified, the menus are original there all the more. You will sleep in this robust cévenol high granite massive mas, the stone of the country. In group, in couple or only, you will know how to estimate(appreciate) the peace of this house which does not miss character. We come here to rest(base), get fresh ideas. You neither will thus be disturbed by the telephone, nor tried to turn on the television: there is neither of them in rooms(chambers). Count rather on the family atmosphere which reigns in the Mas of Faïsses to cross(spend) your evenings: the gastronomy and the art of gardens have not secret anymore for Robert and Yvette, maybe will reveal you they some some of their craftiness! Vous pourrez découvrir les jardins écologiques d'où sont tirés les produits servis à la table de l'aubergeIl ne faut pas perdre de vue que le Mas des faïsses est avant tout une exploitation agricole engagée dans une démarche de développement durable. C'est ce qui lui vaut de se prévaloir du terme de ferme-auberge. Conformément au cahier des charges des fermes-auberges, le Mas des faïsses vous assure une majorité de produits issus de sa production ainsi qu'une vraie cuisine. Yvette (jardinière) et Robert (cuisinier) sont deux passionnés : les cultures sont étonnamment diversifiées et les menus en sont d'autant plus originaux. Yvette propose une visite commentée des jardins écologiques tous les mercredis de juillet et août à 17 h précises. Environ deux heures de visites qui se terminent par un apéritif gourmand avec dégustation de quelques spécialités du mas.
