You will be seduced by the smells of the shady woods filled with oaks, by the vineyards and lavender fields. Danielle and Alain truly love this beautiful nature and quiet environment in the Provence.
While Danielle used to work in the fashion world, Alain was a corporate lawyer with a huge experience abroad. They decided to bring together their respective philosophy and sense of hospitality; and the magic of the local art de vivre, the taste and colours, the superb luminous intensity of the drome provencale. Our charming guesthouse La Devinière offers a superb swimming pool, 48 feet by 18, with completely equipped pool house, garden furniture, towels, fridge stocked with soft drinks, wine and beer, where you can spend an entire day, lazing confortably in the shade of a palm tree. And after playing a game of petanque, why not take a walk to the orchard, through the apricot trees, peer and apple trees or through the vineyards; unless you prefer a local pastis in the glow of the setting sun near the lavender fields. THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
Within a short distance of our charming guest house, you will discover lots of small villages, colourfull markets, adorable little churchs and breathtaking sceneries not only in the drome provencale but also in the ardeche the nearby province. Do you play golf and wish to find outstanding quality accomodation in the close neighbourhood? Then, the beautiful golf de la valdaine welcomes you 7 miles from our guesthouse. Very near to us, we also suggest the beautiful village of grignan with its cathedral, the small villages of viviers, bourg saint andeol; the markets in pont saint esprit or saint paul trois chateaux; a dinner by candlelight in la garde adhemar, or le poet laval and a walk to the rocks 400 m from our house with its breathtaking view 330 feet above the rhone river. But the drome also means valence, its capital, romans well known for its shoe industry and le vercors for those looking for shady woods and mountains. Should you wish to visit our goats and taste the delicious local tommes cheese or take a walk to the Alps with the help of our local donkeys, feel free to ask! You need half an hour to reach Avignon, fifteen more to Uzes or l'isle sur la sorgue (the place to be for antiques). You want to book a restaurant in aix en provence, find a specialized bookshop in marseille, visit the old lyon; we will be happy to provide you with the best help we can. Top

MAP & DIRECTIONS
Our property is located between Lyon and Marseille, more precisely between Valence and Avignon and very easy to reach. (gps N44°27'34 - E4°42'38). By car, the near exit is Montelimar South leaving highway A7; you can then, either drive straight to Donzere, have a first pastis on the village main place and we will pick you up... Or, after the exit Montelimar South turn then right to Montelimar, drive 500 meters and turn left to malataverne. At the first stop, follow straight ahead to Chateauneuf du Rhone. At the second stop, make a quick right/left turn and follow again Chateauneuf du Rhone. When arriving in Chateauneuf on the main place, turn left into a small street on the left side of the hotel de la poste; Then, follow the road on 3, 2 kilometers and turn right when mentionned les Roches - Les Plaines. Then straight ahead between the trees and stop in front of the second wooden door on your right! Here you are!
