En ce site prestigieux, il y a près d'un millier d'années, les moines bénédictins érigèrent une église romane dont il ne reste que quelques ruines enfouies dans la verdure, et une métairie dont le souvenir est encore fortement inscrit dans l'aile Est et dans une cour intérieure des bâtiments. Ici se trouvait le hameau primitif des Angles dont la première mention historique remonte à 1097. Situé au pied du vieux village provençal des Angles, la grande demeure de Pontmartin s'ouvre sur un parc ombragé de plus de deux hectares. Une longue allée appelle le visiteur aux promenades romantiques sous la fraîcheur des immenses platanes centenaires… En 2004, la petite fille de Louis Montagné, rend à nouveau vie et lustre à ce lieu magique encore marqué par le labeur des Bénédictins, le faste des Calvet au Temps des Lumières, l'esprit des Pontmartin au xixè et les éclats colorés de Louis Montagné au xxè.
