THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
Cruzy : Nested in the hollow of a nice dale, this pretty mediterranean village hides in its heart plenty of treasures that a quick trip can't reveal.
Around the church, a historical classed building ( 9th-15th centuries), considered as one of the nicest churches in France, you will enjoy rambling and sightseeing along the narrow winding streets.
Several dinosaur sites have been dug out in the country.
These last eight years, diggings have been performed twice a year, in Spring and in Summer, supervised by Eric buffeteau, a famous researcher from the cnrs. Unique discoveries have already been made and all these evidences of the Past are kept in the rich archaelogical museum of the village.
A mediterranean village wouldn't exist without its pétanque ground.(bowls played in the South of France).
Young and Old, man or woman, villagers and tourists, everyone enjoys teasing the bowl, a game of skill... Often source of rows!
The main wealth and resources of Cruzy are its vineyard, of course! It spreads over 1500 hectares of plains and hillsides, offering to connoisseurs, but also to neophytes, a large range of wines, classified in aoc St Chinian. Top
