HOME
L'Orri de Planès is our guesthouse, your lodge in the mountains. It's a 300 year old stone farmhouse that has been tastefully renovated, using the sun's energy to produce its own electricity, hot water, and heat, offering guests year round, environmentally friendly comfort. It's a great place to be after a long day's effort. In Summertime, soaking up the afternoon sunshine, taking a dip in our solar heated pool, then sipping a cool glass of local wine or beer on our outdoor terrace while listening to good music. In Winter, sitting in front of our cozy fireplace, warming yourself up and recharging your batteries. It's a place to interact, to meet people from other countries and cultures, to sit around long tables and share delicious meals that have been carefully prepared using high quality local and organic ingredients. And most of all, it's a house with principles, a place where each decision has been made taking into account it's impact on our environment and on the people who live in it.  Top

THE ROOMS
The house sits at 1550 meters above sea level in a privileged natural setting in the French Cerdagne. It can accommodate up to 24 people in 9 comfortable rooms: 7 that sleep 2 (4 rooms with a double bed and 3 rooms with two individual beds). One of the double rooms has a private bath; the other three each share a bath with another room. All paired rooms can be reserved separately, or together as a 4 person unit. Both family bedrooms have private baths.
All bedrooms are equipped with high quality bedding and soundproof partition walls. They are rented with all linen furnished. Breakfast is included; dinner is optional. Meals are served around shared tables.
Orri guests enjoy the use of a comfortable living room with a well furnished library of books and dvds. There is also a space for kids with toys, games and books. In Summer, drinks and light meals are served on the outdoor terrace and the salt treated, solar heated swimming pool is open to all guests; in Winter, a cozy fire is lit in the dining room's fireplace each evening.
The house is usually rented by the room, but it is also possible to reserve the entire lodge for family reunions, seminars, short courses... In this case, breakfasts and dinners are automatically included in the rental rates. Top

THE TABLE
All ingredients used in the preparation of meals served at the Orri come from more than 30 local and organic producers.
Breakfast: A breakfast buffet that includes breads, jams and marmalades, honey, teas, coffee, fruit juices, fruit, yoghurt, charcuterie, cheese...
Dinner: A fixed menu that includes starter, main course, dessert, wine and tea or coffee, served around shared tables in the barn of our old farmhouse. Locally sourced ingredients; internationally inspired recipes. A flavorful, healthy and creative cuisine that changes with the seasons.
In order to allow us to have necessary ingredients on site, we kindly ask all guests to reserve meals in advance. Also, please advise at the time of your reservation if you have any special dietary needs (vegetarian, gluten-free, salt-free...). Top

THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
The Cerdange is an immense and open valley, surrounded by peaks soaring to 3000 meters above sea level. With its exceptionally high number of sunny days and its perfectly preserved virgin nature, the region is a real paradise for practicing mountain sports: in Summer, hiking, mountain biking, climbing and horseback riding; in Winter, downhill and cross country skiing, snowshoeing and back country skiing. CULTURAL AND SPORTS ACTIVITIES
Summer: on site pool (treated with salt and heated with our solar installation), hiking (gr10 and 36 pass next to our property), fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking, climbing, hang gliding, sailing. Winter: Sled lending and snowshoe rental on site, downhill, cross country and back country skiing nearby. The Orri is located at the foot of the Cambre d'Aze mountain, at an elevation of 1550 meters above sea level. It is set in the tiny town of Planès, 5 kms from Mont Louis and from the Col de la Perche. Gps: Longitude 2º 08' 18 E (metric: 2. 13835º E)Latitude 42º 29' 28 N (metric: 42. 49105º N)Planès is easily accessible by highway from Toulouse via the Puymorens tunnel (3 hours), from Barcelona via the Cadí Tunnel (2. 5 hours), or from Perpignan on highway N116 (1. 5 hours). The town is located at the end of local highway D32. The Orri de Planès is located in the upper part of the town, just above the group of houses called Cases del Mitg (houses in the middle), opposite the cheese farm and the church.
