For long or short holidays, Beau Vallon offers a choice of accommodation (chambres d'hôtes, self-contained studios and a gîte) in the Conflent region of the Pyrénées Orientales 15km south west of Prades. At Beau Vallon you will be near enough to the main centres to enjoy the festivals, markets and local shops, but away from the holiday crowds, the traffic and high temperatures of the plains. Situated on the edge of the Cerdagne, 1h30mins from Andorra and 1 hour from the Mediterranean.
Beau Vallon, a rural location on the border of 2 national parks, offers you the tranquillity of the Pyrénéan mountains, fresh unpolluted air and lovely gardens in which to relax. The Vallée de la Rotja, through which runs the river de la Rotja well known for wild trout fishing, is known as the 'Vallée Gourmande' - famous for cheeses, honey, safron, spirulina, charcuterie, apple juice and delicious apples.
Situated in the heart of excellent walking country, with great cycling opportunities (both road and off-road), as well as music festivals, fêtes of all kinds and historical centres to visit. And for snow lovers, we're only 50 minutes from a selection of some of the best ski resorts in the French Pyrenees.
All rooms are ground floor and opening on to the gardens. Self catering facilities are at your disposal, indoors and outdoors (the communal kitchen is reserved for B&B breakfast to 11:00). The design of the accommodation allows you to come and go in complete liberty. Ideal for entertaining large family groups.

THE ROOMS
In-room facilities: Inside the rooms, guests will find: • tea and coffee making facilities. • a small fridge. • a table and chairs. • an ensuite bathroom (with a shower), and. • double doors leading onto the private patio allowing both easy access, and letting light flood into the room. Three of our rooms (Manches, Molleres and Dona Pa) sleep two people, the third (Cogollo) sleeps three. It may be possible to include a travel cot in some of the rooms for those guests travelling with a young child - please contact us if this is of interest. We offer B&B / chambres d'hôtes accommodation either with breakfast included. Four Self-Catering Studios for your convenience: Our studios (Goa, Roja, Roquette, Bosquet & Capsole) offer the same facilities as our chambres d'hôtes rooms and include a kitchenette with a full size fridge (C. 85cm high). Compact they may be, but they offer a complete self-catering setup. Each studio accommodates 2 people (Roquette can accommodate 2 plus a child) and has its own private patio leading on to the lawn garden in which are located a variety of seating areas which you are welcome to take advantage of, as well as those in the main garden adjoining it, whilst the fourth studio (Bosquet & Capsole) sleeps 2 + 2 children and a minimum of 2 nights in high season. THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
Hiking : Championship Canigou begins 08/14. Book your accommodation well in advance at Beau Vallon. Canigou massif : 2, 784m, 66m gr10 : a day's walk (rtn) from Beau Vallon. Plus over 200kms of groomed and controlled trails. Hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking: 14 trails in the Valley Cady and the Canigou. Abbey of Saint Martin de Canigou 1094m, 40 minutes departing Casteil. 4x4 excursions to cottage Cortalets + 2 hour hike to the summit of Canigou. Three Trestles: 2, 099m départ Beau Vallon / Escaro. Circuit Tour de Pays. Natural reserves of Py and Mantet. We are beside the two natural reserves - of oak and pine forest with animals like songliers, chamois and eagles and many other wild animals live there. At Py 974m - several hiking trails: Check the 1, 761m Col de Mantet – gr10. Fishing : in the Rotja River: wild brown trout. Visit the hatchery (rainbow ) next to Beau Vallon. Mountain Sports: Canyoning, climbing, caving and water sports :www. Aventure- pyreneene. Com. Activities for the Family : At Vernet -les- Bains (4km) tennis, swimming, equestrian centre, spa centre.
