For a weekend escape or longer break, discover the Relais de Chateau Gaillard, a newly restored self-catering gite and three bed and breakfast chambres d'hotes situated in the spectacular Vercors Regional Park in the Southern Alps area of France (Rhone-Alps). Formerly a mountain farm, our five-acre property offers rural peace and quiet, pleasant grounds with a walnut grove and panoramic views of our region's signature mountain range. We are a ten-minute walk from our village centre, St Jean en Royans, with its bars, restaurants, shops, banks church and other services. THE ROOMS
Font d'Urle is named after our local ski resort, which is reflected in its traditional chalet style of pine furniture and red fabrics. Like the other rooms it has lofty ceilings and original main beams. It offers a double bed(1. 50m) and an en-suite bathroom with shower and wc. Les Charmettes takes its name from the Alpine residence of the 18th century French philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau. Our choice of decor recreates the ambiance of a warm and elegant provincial 18th:19th century bedroom. It has a double bed (1. 60m) and a private bathroom with shower and wc. Arundel is a town dear to us, rich in history and architecture, in West Sussex in the South of England, where we lived for many years and where we have family and friends.
