In the west of the Luberon area, 20 kms from Avignon, Gorde, Fontaine de Vaucluse... Le Mas de la Cigale Bleue offers you a warm and peaceful welcome. Set in large, magnificent gardens, le Mas de la Cigale Bleue is a haven for visitors to Provence. The birds and the cigales chirp, the frogs warm themselves and the dragonfly hover over the water lilies in the landscaped pond. As you wander through the gardens, numerous plants and flowers shine in the provencal sun or surprise you in the shady nooks.
Inside the 19th century mas, the lumonisity and surprising volumes, with the charm of the provencal beamed ceilings. The depth of its walls, its authentic decor will transport you to a previous epoque, agreeably compbined with all modern comforts.

THE TABLE
You will be able to enjoy a full continental breakfast and what's more it is organic! with home and hand baked bread, croissants, pain au chocolats and a range of homemade jams.
We also serve a delicious bowl of fresh fruit salad, yoghurts and cereals.

Organic - a way of life! - All year round
Here at the Mas de la Cigale Bleue, the birds sing, the bees hum, the cigales chant - for they are happy to be living naturally. For our guests, too, Yvette prepares a delicious organic breakfast! Home made croissants, pains au chocolat, and the bread too is made from her own mixture of local selected organic flours. Even the coffee, the tea, the freshly squeezed orange juice, yoghurts, fruit salad, ... All are organic. In the summer, the house is kept wonderfully cool, in the provencal way - with no air-conditioning. In the winter, the house is warmed by a log fire. The roof has a full set of solar pannels, our water comes from a deep water table which is, of course, tested, and delicious. Throughout the garden and the house, our aim is to only use organic products, often basing this on traditional, biologically ethical methods rather than resorting to pesticides, etc... Our wish is to live in harmony with nature and to do everything possible to promote sustainable development.

OUR AREAS OF INTEREST
We adore the garden, and everything to do with Nature - and we are lucky to be surrounded by such a wealth of natural beauty! There are an enormous variety of walks or hikes for all - whether taking a ramble along the different Sorgues, walking in the Luberon mountains, the Haute Vaucluse, the Mont Ventoux, the Dentelles de Montmirails. There are the marvellous perched villages, the Abbey of Senanque, Provence's own Colorado and so much more! it's quite simple to pop down to the Camargue for the day, to see the flocks of flamingos, the white Camargue horses that are so docile and easy to ride, the black bulls, fluttering dragonflies, or even if you are lucky catch sight of a kingfisher darting towards the water - or take a visit to the Pont du Gard and then wander along the Garon river, sparkling in the sunshine. We love gardening too and are delighted to share our interest in all the wonderful species that grow in this glorious climate! Top

THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
The Mas de la Cigale Bleue nestles in a truly peaceful nook, in the countryside. It has a very large garden which has a large variety of spaces and hideaways where you can relax and enjoy the calm. You can sit by the pond, wander through the wooded area, sunbathe on the lawn, spend a refreshing moment in the pool, take one of the tables and have a picnic with only the birds, and the cigales in the summer, to serenade you. In the evening, our little toads will amaze you. Sometimes in the springtime you will be able to hear the nightingales chorus, the owls overhead, and the magnificent spectacle of the starry sky and the milky way. Top

CULTURAL AND SPORTS ACTIVITIES
Provence - an area of rich culture. In July, the festival in Avignon attracts thousands of visitors every year. And the Opera House in Avignon offers a vast range of cultural wealth. But throughout the area, towns and villages offer concerts and festivals for all tastes right through the year in Provence, starting from the very popular Auditorium in le Thor, just 3 miles from us. We can also offer a ping pong table, a game of bowls, In our own garden. Very close by, there are pony clubs who are delighted to offer horse riding, a golf course very close to us, canoing or kayaking down the Sorgue or down from teh Fontaine de Vaucluse, rock climbing in the Dentelles de Montmirail - and of course, there are cinemas, ice skating rinks, swimming pools and a huge range of walks for all tastes in this beautiful region! MAP & DIRECTIONS
From the A7, (exit 24, Avignon Sud) turn left at the roundabout direction Caumont (not towards the airport also called Caumont which is on the right). (a) Take the right hand lane towards Apt, Isle sur la Sorgue. Drive under 2 bridges, following the Durance on your right and the Chartreuse de Bonpas on your left. Turn left after the Chartreuse et drive through the village of Caumont. At the large roundabout, continue straight on and take the left fork at the next small roundabout - Route de l'Isle, D25. Continue for about 2. 9 kms along this road. You will see a low signpost, Le Mas de la Cigale Bleue, opposite our entrance (Just beforehand, you will see a sign for Le Panama)
From the airport, follow the signs, Toutes Directions. At the third roundabout, turn left and continue straight on (you will pass the exit for the A7 on your left) Then follow the directions as from (a).
From the tgv Avignon, follow the direction, Avignon Sud and la Rocade (don't go towards the Centre Ville). Continue on the Rocade and take the right hand filter for Cavaillon. After passing the shopping centre, Mistral 7 and the airport on your left, follow the directionsas from (a).
