While the city of vaison la romaine is basking in the southern sun, surrounding its Roman Theater and archeological sites (Pride of Hadrian and Burrhus !), you just cross the Vaison's old bridge, climb the hill and find yourself in the Middle Ages with its old private hotels, its bed and breakfast and their beautiful rooms.
There, you slowly get immersed in the world of refreshing quietness that characterises the Medieval quater of Vaison la romaine. Far away from noisy Avignon and crowded Lubéron, you walk in direction of the château, passing under the Belfry and take the street of the old Evêché 's hotel and the rooms of this charming bed and breakfast.
Getting there already gives you the romantic touch of it...
When you leave the b&B for wallking through the little cobblestone streets along old stone walls, you will discover an authentic world speaking of history, where Art galleries and boutiques tempt you with beautiful articles, paintings and sculptures.
In these exquisite surroundings, Aude and Jean-Loup Verdier transformed rooms after rooms the ancient Evêché's hotel of the seventeenth century, into a charming b&b with 3 rooms and two suites with private sitting rooms. In this old village, the eveche's hotel became rapidly a famous bed and breakfast.
The rooms are located in a haven of peace. In the old city. Five minutes distance from Vaison 's provencal town and its cultural and gastronomic activities.
Each bed room, in the b&b l'évêché of Vaison la romaine, are ideal resting place for journeys towards Les Baux, l'Isle sur la Sorgue, St-Rémy de Provence, Grignan, Dieulefit, le Pont du Gard, Uzès, Avignon. An ideal hotel to visit Provence.  Top

THE ROOMS
The old bishop's hotel is a large familly house, but on purpose Aude and Jean-Loup only rent out five rooms in their BandB , so that they can give more attention and time to their guests. For example, to give them a good advice for a romantic prank, a cultural trip, a good restaurant, a famous painting gallery or a famous hotel, a nice bed&breakfast in Paris or Nice.
But also to look after the quality of the maintenance of the rooms and linen
Each room has its private bath-room and toilet and its individual decoration, as the other rooms of the b&b. Paintings, books and... Flowers on the windowsills and balconies !
There should be noted that two of the rooms of the inn are suites with private sittingroom. Ideal accommodation solution for three people travelling together. One of the suites has a second floor with another sitting - room and a solarium terrace, with a beautifule view to the old town and the castel (solanum room), just in front of the bed and breakfast.
At the b&b l' évêché breakfast on the terraces, in the middle of the Medieval city, with the view to Vaison la romaine (or in the Aude's lounges, if the weather doesn't permit) is one of the highlights of the day, when you can exchange impressions and prepare your excursions, while your hostess prepares your breakfast.
