an old village in the Gard, four kilometers away from the famous Roman aqueduct the 'Pont du Gard', nestled between wineyards and 'garrigue', this old 18th century 'Bastide' offers you rest and relaxation by the swimming pool after a long day of excursions, enjoy the benefits from the spa (with the help of contribution), or watch tv in the library, enjoying this wonderful part of France. Argilliers is a very old settlement.
Its hills to the north protected it from the fierce winds, and the village itself is on a gentle slope of land where golden stones rise out of the darker clay...
Inhabited already in Roman times (several Roman villas have been found), we still find farms in operation (sunflower, orchards, vineyards and olive rees above all..  Top

The area around the Pont du Gard (Famous & huge worldwilde roman bridge) comes up from thousands years of history. By walk or by car, it offers you to visit and discover 15 villages with historical buildings, local art and gastronomy.
Uzès and his région (named Uzège) is located between the sea and the Cévennes. It is also the first Duchy of France. You certainly will please a walk by the medieval streets of the town and a visit to the famous market place in the Place aux Herbes, it goes every saturday mornings.
