Treat yourself and stay in the oldest duché in France: Uzès. And visit the pont du Gard, ans Nîmes and Cévennes and Avignon...(For the benefit of our English guests, fluent English is spoken)! Walking around Mas Conil, and discovering wonderful landscapes, an old village, a castle, a church, and beautiful skies... Mas Conil (pronounce the s) is an old 19th century restored farm and transformed in s guest house. Mas means farm in local language. The name Conil was the family name of the last farmers, died in the 1960ties. (TheConil). Cezanne 's father-in-law was also named Conil! In catalan language, conill means rabbit!Our meals are inspired by the use of seasonal vegetables with most of the vegetables being organically grown in our own garden adjacent to the Mas.  Top

THE ROOMS
Gardon is a lavender coloured ambiance, with 2 beds of 90/200 cm, a painted cement floor of the end of 19th century, family furniture and drawings of Swiss painters. In Gardon room, the bathroom is equiped with a bathtub. Bourdic, is a large bed (160/200) and a true old floor (1863), a stone wall, and a bath room lighted by a little round window. The color of this room is the green of Uzès, and family furniture, (the spinning wheel is really from the family) give this room a charming ambiance. In Alzon is a little collection of embroidered primers, and a large bed (180/200 cm) placed on an original floor (1902), it is also a stone wall, and old family furniture. A bathroom with a shower complete the equipement of the room. esquielle is a room with the theme Olives. The colour of the walls, and the design of the provencal fabrics, give this room a specific ambiance. 2 beds of 90/200cm, and family furniture personalize this area. The little window of the bathroom is a remnant of the raising silkworms in the house. In the family suite Seynes you will find, in a private area, two rooms: one with two bed (90/200cm) and the other one with a large bed (160/200cm) These two rooms can use a spacious bathroom. Top

THE TABLE
Shaded by the bows of two old trees, with expansive views over vineyards of the Pays d'Oc, we invite you to savour the culinary delights of the region. Meals are shapped by seasonal produce, with most vegetables organically grown behind the villa in our garden. During the cold seasons, we invite you to dine in our dinning room with its traditional fireplace. Top

Boutis provençal in Provence - All year
The boutis is an old provencal way of sewing, that you can learn easely hier in Provence. The technique of the boutis can be learned very quickly: one day to know how to do it, and you can realise some.. This allows you to have time to visit the region.
One complete day or two half days

Material and fournitures are included.
It's possible to organize some visits of antiques or brocantes, or some visits to famous ceramics of the region

GENERAL INFORMATION
As with all guest houses (chambre d’hôtes) the Mas Conil is also the private home of the proprietor. The area reserved for guests is under the same roof as the private accommodation. For these reasons as to respect the privacy of our guests and ourselves, to comply with our security and to maintain the tranquillity of the Mas, we are therefore unable to allow non guests in the bedrooms and in or around the swimming pool. The Mas Conil complies with French Law and smoking is not allowed anywhere internally in the building. The courtyard is used for evening dining in the warmer seasons when weather permits. Guests who wish to have dinner at the Mas should make a reservation not less than 48 hours in advance. The facilities at Mas Conil do not include amusements suitable for children within the grounds and there are no games or play areas and there is no provision for baby sitting. Swimming Pool: Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times at the pool, despite this being a safe design. For reasons of pool hygiene and safety (wasps and similar insects) no meals or glassware can be taken or used around the swimming pool. We ask our guests not to use the pool after 19. 30. The Period design and character of the Mas does unfortunately not permit us to welcome guests with a mobility handicap as our rooms and facilities are all on the first floor. Guests accompanied by their domestic pet should inform Mas Conil in advance of arrival. These animals must be kept on the lease inside the Mas and in the courtyard. The animals must not be left alone in the bedrooms during the day. COMFORT & SERVICES
All rooms are individually decorated, with family furniture or antiques. The beds are very carafully chosen to be comfortable. The bed sheets are ancient and in a 100% natural tissu (linen or coton). Bathrooms are news and modern. The walls and the botttom of the rooms are originaly from this house, when it was possible to keep them. Top

THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
South oriented, two trees, (mulberries trees) bring an appreciate shade in the terrace, during the warm days. These trees are the proof of the existence, in 19th century, of a raising silkworms (magnanerie in french). Surrounded by vineyards, garrigue, ollive trees, the life is quiet... Walking around Mas Conil, and discovering wonderful landscapes, an old village, a castle, a church, and beautiful skies... Jean Racine, visiting his uncle in Uzès was writing: « Sky is always nice (...) My nights are more beautiful than your days. »(To Monsieur Vitartin Uzès, 17th of January 1662.) Top
